We LOVED everything about Alma Cliffe (well, perhaps not the steps, LOL). Our host Tracey was fabulous in very way, and our room (and bathroom) were spacious, clean, and comfortable (with special personal touches and supplies for our every need). Breakfast was great, and the front garden, spectacular view, gorgeous nearby countryside, and short walk into this quaint town 'on our path' made this affordable lodging a clear favorite~

Absolutely the poshest room we've ever stayed in, and we were so grateful there was a room available on a bank holiday weekend after we had walked away from another property we'd booked that was dirty and unacceptable.
Every single thing about this place was top! The beds and pillows were comfy, the room temperature was perfect, the shower was amazing, the decor was stunning and current, parking was free and easy, and breakfast was great. (We didn't eat dinner or watch television.)
The young man who checked us in walked me all the way to our room so I wouldn't get lost. For a spectacular getaway, I'd stay in the Loft Suite. The village was adorable too.

James the GM went out of his way to help us get to a wedding in time. Our taxi didn’t arrive so James did not hesitate to take us there which was so decent of him. We arrived 1 minute before the bride walked down the aisle!!

A lovely, classic Lancashire (Yorkshire) market town, with plenty of things to do, places to eat & drink.
The Music & Arts centre always has some excellent bands playing, which was the reason for our visit.
The market square, was great, with plenty of open air seating, that allowed you to take your food / drinks from any of the available vendors.
We recommend Wax & Taps, a great craft beer bar, with a fantastic menu and a small but surprisingly good selection of vinyl, for sale.

Alma Cliffe was an elegant home away from home.
Alma Cliffe was an elegant home away from home. The house is beautifully decorated & immaculately kept. The hosts were special people asking if there was anything we needed. It was simply "Ask & you shall receive.!" Nothing was too much trouble & it was obvious that our comfort was of the utmost importance.
The hosts are a very pleasant couple.

I can't be terribly helpful about Barnoldswick as I was visiting friends at the Lower Park Marina, but the town itself has some lovely shops and cafes and plenty of available parking. Just down the road at Colne there is the Boundary outlet with all of the top name shops to browse. Easy access to Skipton and Harrogate for more amazing shops and experiences.

I booked for bed and breakfast and on our arrival was told we would have to pay another £8.50 each day for a cooked breakfast. We got a small continental breakfast, which on description on booking .com it did say breakfast.
The accommodation was spacious for four adults and two children, with good size rooms leading off a large corridor, and a large living room with two huge sofas. We were able to park our car immediately outside and there was a private 'garden' with outdoor furniture if you wanted to sit out. Lots of wardrobe / drawers / cupboard space to store your clothes and other belongings, more than you need, but no hairdryer, tissues or mini toiletries you might expect from a hotel room.
Super host. Clean comfortable room with superb views. Ideal base to explore the area. We visited Thornton Country Park and Scarecrow Trail in Kettlewell. We also found a few geo caches around Barnoldswick.
Good communication with Tracey. Nothing too much trouble. Extra little touches in room and bathroom. Enjoyed use of dining room and little one could watch Netflix.
Really good value for money and would stay again and recommend to friends. Superb.
The views are stunning and the hut is fitted out beautifully. You have everything you need for a comfortable stay. There are cooking facilities both inside the hut and outside in the covered seating area. Alison and John are both lovely and will leave you to enjoy the hut once you have checked in. There is an Aldi in Barnoldswick, 1.5 miles away down hill. Perfectly located for exploring Pendle Hill for the witch trail and other surrounding villages.
The rooms were nice and clean. We had breakfast in the morning, it was the basic continental one and served the purpose to quickly grad something before leaving for the day. There was a farm in front and behind the hotel where we saw rabbits and sheep. It was really nice. they also have ample parking for the cars. Overall a satisfied stay. I would recommend staying here.
Nicely decorated house in a quiet location near to Barnoldswick town centre.
Comfortable bed ensuring a good night's sleep.walking distance of local shops - I can recommend Frank's takeaway coffee shop and the Barlick Raj Balti.
Good position for exploring the Yorkshire Dales - I can recommend Stirk House and the Inn at Whitewell for meals outside Barnoldswick.
This is a beautiful house in Barnoldswick just a short walk into town. Wonderful owner who keeps her house in immaculate order. Wonderful fresh smell throughout. Very friendly and you can pay for a great breakfast if you would like one. The dining room has a nice view over the vista.
This cottage is a home from home. The beds and sofa are very comfy, the wood burner is a treat and the kitchen has everything you could need.
It is located in central Barnoldswick, very convenient for the town and a great starting point for many spectacular walks.
Perfect location to explore the local countryside and town...we found everyone we met to be warm and friendly...the Barnoldswick Music and Arts Centre is a wonderful venue to listen to live bands from all across the globe.
Good location for exploring the local area, and a bus stop outside if you fancied a few beers in nearby Barnoldswick . Staff were very helpful and friendly. Buffet breakfast was lovely too.
Our second visit there this year. The location is really nice with views of countryside and within reach of nice Lancashire towns. The room itself was spacious and generally clean
for us the location was not so good as my husband is a poor walker so a bit to far from centre.ideal for a large family enough beds for 8 people.barnoldswick a lovely place.
